I was in lockdown pretty much the whole day, gathering and organizing tax crap. I can think of no task more loathsome. About halfway through, I headed out in the rain for a quick 30-minute walk. I stopped at Ristretto Roasters and bought a piece of chocolate-espresso bread, a confection that's so chocolate-y it's almost black. Went back home, put my shoulder to the wheel, and wrapped up the taxes around 6:15 PM. Mind you, the numbers have yet to be masticated by TurboTax but that is someone else's job. I AM DONE. Whoo hoo! I wolfed down the chocolate-espresso bread, which was, as you would expect, magically delicious and extremely rewarding.
