Tsunami Relief

I’ve been wanting to post something about the tsunamis and all the people who have been left homeless and destitute. But what can I say about one of the worst natural disasters and humanitarian crises in memory? It’s good to know that there has been an incredible outpouring of money and support from individuals around the world, and if you can manage to make a donation to Oxfam or the Red Cross/Red Crescent, please do. If you’re a U.S. citizen, you might also want to urge Congress and President Bush to authorize significantly more aid to the region. The United States has earmarked only $35 million so far. As pointed out in a recent MoveOn.org e-mail, that much money gets spent in Iraq every seven hours.

Click here if you would like to send an e-mail to Congress and the president.

Thanks.
